Q: Can I use this exclusively in a large blow up pool (4ftx8ft) so it stays clean/sanitary and I don't have to keep emptying and refilling it?

A: No, pool salt is used with a system that generates chlorine from the salt (sodium chloride). Salt alone will not disinfect a pool.

Q: Do I have to add another chemicals to maintain my pool clean or salt will do all job?

A: Salt should be the only thing you need to maintain your pool all summer if you monitor your pool's production of chlorine. We put in about 6- 7 bags after the initial shock treatment and it should continue making chlorine all summer. You may have to add a bag here or there if you see the chlorination dipping. You can also adjust the percentage of production of chlorine if you see it's too high then lower the % or vice versa.

Q: Can I use this to kill weeds?

A: Very much so! I have crushed rock along the side of my house and was tired of having to weed it all the time. I put a couple bags of this down in in a day and a half everything was brown or completely dead. Now this won't JUST kill weeds but anything where it's poured. (In my case, that's what I wanted) I tried all kinds of "kill anything" sprays but this worked better and faster. I have heard how you need to be careful where you put it so it doesn't leech into other areas of your yard you don't want to die off. For me this wasn't a problem because I had no grass on that side of the house and didn't want any vegetation growing.

Q: Can I use a regular pump?

A: You can use the salt with a regular pump provided you have also installed a salt water converter pump. You need the salt water converter to change the salt into chlorine otherwise all you have is a saltwater pool with no chlorine. I use the Krystal Klear pump and I am very pleased with it.

A: Small crystals that tend to harden up in the bag You should try to break up the chunks before putting in the pool otherwise they take a while to dissolve otherwise.

Q: Can this salt be used for a small above ground pool? The small maintenance kit is chlorine, but I was hoping to make the pool salt water instead.

A: Sifto Pool Salt is designed for use in swimming pools that contain salt water and have chlorine generators. If by “hot water tub” you mean a “hot tub”, also known as a “spa” then you would need to ask the hot tub manufacturer if this is suitable.
