Purchased Shop Vac one week ago and it stopped working after using twice. Third time attempting to use, the motor attempted to start then just quit: guessing its seized. Dry use only vacuuming inside of car.

tuyau trop gros enleve la qualité d'aspiration

j'ai acheté cette article sa fais un mois et utilisé 2 fois et j'aime pas le tuyau trop gros et sa affecte l'aspiration tire moins que ma vieille de 20 ans et l’assemblage du tuyau ces cheap et le balai qui va au bout trop gros aussi manque de puissance

Good Shop Vac lousy hose attachment

I purchased this shop vac because my 25+ year old shop vac went on the fritz in the middle of a large cleanup. Brought it home, unpacked it assembled it and started vacuuming. Within the first minute the hose fell off the vacuum!
There are two small plastic tabs(see pictures), that fit into a connector. In my case these tabs came installed in the connector and the hose was attached. These tabs are an integral part of the function of the vacuum, if they aren't there the hose falls out of the vac as the grooves in the tabs are what the hose screws into (on my old shop vac the grooves were part of the attachment and not a separate piece). Once this occurs you will have to pack up the vac and take it back for either another or a return. Luckily I was able to use the hose from my old vacuum. I will return this vac after the covid-19 is over.
Aside from the problem, the vacuum has good suction and the noise is not louder than you would expect a 6.5 horsepower vacuum would have. If it wasn't for the poor design of the hose connector I would keep this shop vac.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How do I vac water, what filters do i remove from the vac when i wet vac. Do I need any special parts?

A: To vacuum any liquid you need a foam sleeve in place. The only special part required is the foam sleeve. For the vacuum you are referencing it is Shop-Vac part # 90585.

A: The standard warranty is 5 years. I don't think Canadian tire sells extended warranties on this product. 5 years is a great warranty for a vacuum.

Q: exact wattage for this 6.5 hp vacuum it rates at 1440 watts peak as in the lab however I need all my watts from the generator so what would the operating watts be on this vacuum?

A: The Shop-Vac Ultra Stainless Steel Wet/Dry Vac, 45.5 L - CTC# 54-0052 has no EXACT operating watts, there is a tolerance from one run to the other. The average maximum watts this unit can draw is 1450 watts and this would be the open orifice (inlet) without any restrictions (not under load).
