Product Details

The Sea Foam SF-16 Motor Treatment has everything mechanics and do-it-yourselfers need in a fuel and oil additive. It dissolves and removes residues and deposits that can build up over time, stabilizes your fuel to keep it fresh, controls moisture and lubricates upper cylinder walls. Whether added to gasoline, diesel fuel or right into your oil crankcase, Sea Foam works safely and effectively to clean and protect your engine.

  • Multi-functional formula that can be used in gas, ethanol, diesel or bio-diesel, oil, injector and carbon cleaning machines

  • Cleans injectors, fuel stabilizer, dries oil and fuel, adds lubricity, frees lifters-rings, carbon cleaner, upper cylinder lube, de-icer and anti-gel

  • Can also be used safely and effectively in all marine makes and engine types from inboard or outboard, jet or stern drive, injected or carburetor, 2 or 4-stroke

  • Cleans and restores lost engine power by dissolving petroleum deposits and residues

  • Lubricates upper cylinder parts for longer engine wear life and helps protect the entire fuel system from corrosion

  • Stabilizes fuel by resisting evaporation, gum and varnish formation

  • Controls small amounts of moisture and preserves ignition vapors so engines start easier

  • For routine fuel system (gas tank to engine) maintenance, one can of Sea Foam Motor Treatment treats up to 16 gallons of gas or diesel fuel

  • For cars and trucks driven regularly, put 1 to 2 cans of Sea Foam in your fuel tank every 3,000 to 8,000 kms

  • For engine equipment used regularly, add 1 (one) ounce of Sea Foam per gallon to a fresh tank fill every 3 months or sooner

  • Add Sea Foam to your engine oil before or after every oil change interval – just pour into your engine’s oil filler neck

  • Size: 473 mL

Trusted for 2stroke & 4stroke engines

Noticed much improved starting performance in my Honda mower without having to do a carb job. Chainsaw starting, idle & high end got better after a couple of tanks of 100:1 gas/oil & Seafoam. I use Seafoam in all my small engines, to keep them running well with today's short shelf life gasoline.

Q: Can this product be used safely with outboard motors? An oldtimer said that it helps his mariner to run smoothly. He only uses 2 capfulls to 5 gallons

  • A: Yes, the word 'marine' appears on the can and the manufacturer's web site supports marine use. It just solved a significant high speed hesitation problem in my 2007 Yamaha 115.

Q: Can you add some to the oil and gas at the same time? Does that provide any added cleaning benefit?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes, you can add Sea Foam to an engine's fuel tank and oil crankcase at the same time. There would not be a combined benefit, but doing both is always beneficial. Hope this helps!

Q: is these goes directly in engine oil? if so how so use it?

2 Answers
  • A: Thanks for the question. Sea Foam works in both fuel and oil systems. When adding to oil, we recommend adding Sea Foam to oil 100 to 300 miles before the end of each oil change interval. Just know that you can add any time during the interval as long as you drive at least 100 miles to allow Sea Foam enough time to circulate and clean. When adding to oil, add 1 ounce of Sea Foam to each quart of oil. Can eyeball half a can into the oil filer neck for most car and light truck engines.

Q: When added to the crankcase, how many KLM after should the oil be changed? and do you dump the whole can in at once?

2 Answers
  • A: Must rest label as it’s goes by onces per litres of oil your motor has. Also you do this when your are close to an oil change like 400-500 kilometres or 300 miles.  I would take the time to look at a few YouTube videos as they are a few that goes through it all in details.

Q: Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH Seafoam added into the fuel tank? I added half a can to about 12 liters for a Honda 9.9 outboard. It wouldn't idle or throttle up, it's running good now.

2 Answers
  • A: Yes, TOO much is not good. Just follow the instructions on the can. They're there for a reason. MORE is not better.
