Poor Quality Scotts Turf Builder

The bag of Scotts Turf builder I purchased was extremely wet, to the point it was not spreadable because it kept plugging up the spreader. The product at the bottom of the bag was so wet it had the texture of wet cement.

Q: Can you apply this to newly seeded lawn as well?

A: Shawn, Scotts Turf Builder Pro Lawn Food will not harm new seedlings, but it will also not help them. When seeding a new lawn we recommend using a starter food that contains phosphorous. Phosphorous (P) is very important for seed germination and establishment.

Q: When should we apply this fertilizer and how often. Hi how often should I apply the fertilizer. I applied at the end of April, when should I apply next, and then again when should apply. Thank you.

A: Turf Builder Pro Lawn Food may be applied every 6-8 weeks during the growing season. If you applied at the end of April, you should apply again mid-late June and follow-up with a an application of fall fertilizer in September.
