We're sorry to hear you're not thrilled with Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair, and we appreciate you letting us know.

For this seed mix, which contains tall fescue, ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass, soil temperatures must be at least 55°F for grass seed to germinate. Daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65°F. This grass seed will germinate best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80°F range. In the spring it takes a lot of consistent warm temperatures to warm up the soil and cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination.

We want you to feel good about using our products. That's why we offer a product guarantee. If, for any reason, you're not happy with the results after using this product, you're entitled to your money back. (Limitations apply). Give us a shout at 866-436-7645 when you have a chance if we can help out more. Scotts

Q: Inexperienced gardener -- I "burned" various areas of my lawn while applying fertilizer with a broadcast spreader. Can I just spread Scotts EZ Seed 3-in-1 patch & repair grass seed directly onto the yellow burnt spots or do I have to remove dead grass.

    • A: Just give it a little longer - not sure where you live - we live in Chilliwack BC and it took our grass nearly 3 weeks to start sprouting as it is still quite cold. It is looking really good now - we had just about given up hope too.

Q: What is the approximate coverage per kg? no existing lawn, planting on loose clay

    • A: It takes a lot of product. You need to spread about an 1/8 of an inch of it to work. This stuff is good for patch work or to fill bald spots on existing lawns. If you are planning on going all out, this stuff would break the bank.
