Got it before the pandemic. It's lightweight, easy to ride. I changed the saddle to a comfier one. The only issue I had was that the breaks were not aligned at the beginning. A trip to the bike shop solved it in 5 mins or if you know how to do it even better.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good Bike For Leisure/Work Commute

I bought this bike last Summer and i have used it to commute to/from work daily and to ride on the weekends etc. It is very easy to ride and its light weight with good suspension. The only problem is the chain seems to have trouble when going up steep hills but other than that this bike it great for cycling casually.

Where’s the “Value”?

Is this Value? Context- I am a professional bicycle mechanic, who worked on this bike for a client who purchased at Canadian Tire. What was a loose bottom bracket which I attempted to adjust to no acceptable tolerance, turned out to be a completely blown bearing set. This was caused by cross threaded Bottom Bracket from the manufacturer lead to a completely damaged main bearing set- the one that lets you pedal your bike. The Aluminum shavings and only just perceptible off Camber interface of the bearing cup (actually out by 0.15 mm- a Grand Canyon in Bike mechanics) and the brute force it took to get it backed out that far. This frame from a “Value” purchase at a local department store not less than 6 weeks ago, is completely trashed. And unfortunately, non-repairable. And preventable (had the manufacturer put a better quality cartridge type bottom bracket, needing less initial adjustment from labourers on install, and therefore less time/money, and less maintenance by the end user. This is a complete waste of money, energy, and resources from off shore manufacturing and shipping, to purchase. Sadly, these types of faults are not just “one offs”, and they start with woefully low quality part selection and assembly practices, and passed off to consumers as a “good deal”. This was a throw away bike before it even made it to Canada. I hate being the bearer of bad news to Clients who put faith into their purchase for their daily transportation needs.

Q: How much does this bike weigh and is it suitable for a 5ft 2 inches woman? Also does it permit an upright sitting position when riding? I just purchased a comfort bike and find it difficult to go up even small hills in the city. I have back and neck pain and I am wondering if a hybrid bike such as the gtx2 or the wayfarer would be a good option for me ?

1 Answer
  • A: Weight of product is about 35 lb. GTX-2 will provide better gearing to be able to go up small hills. This would be a good option. Since it’s a dual sport- it’s more of an aggressive bike and won’t provide an upright sitting position. Our frame geometry is designed to fit a larger range of people. Women's GTX 2 is a 17"(43cm) frame. It would be ok for her if her leg length was 66-76cm. The Schwinn Hydra (# 071-1354) is a good alternative since it will provide more of an up-right sitting position and provides a good range of gearing (24-speed)
