    I really like this keypad!

First off, it looks fantastic! It was a bit of a pain to install, and there is no key (as a back-up), but still...it works great and looks nice. Granted, it has only been in use for a few months, and has yet to experience a Canadian winter, but I am hopeful. It works like this: You enter the code and it gives you several seconds to enter/re-enter (maybe 5-10 seconds) before it locks again. (A green light flashes, indicating this.) The locking mechanism, on the inside of the door, allows you to switch between auto-lock each time the door closes, and remaining unlocked. The interior handle always allows the door to be opened (like a car door), even when locked (unlike a normal door lock). There are two small posts below the keypad, where a 9V battery can be affixed, to facilitate unlocking if the internal battery dies. (So, while you don’t have to worry you’ll be permanently locked-out in such a case, you also likely don’t have a 9V battery jingling around in your pocket, either. Just know that it is possible to do so.) Overall, I am VERY pleased with this product, so far. We have gone from having to remember our cottage keys and fumbling at the back door or having to drop everything to accommodate the 2-hands-needed deadbolt and the round, one-free-hand-needed turn knob, to rolling up to the cottage and entering with arms full of items, only needing to press a few spots and lean on the lever handle, to get in. Such a convenience. Love it. (We now only plan to use the deadbolt on that door when we close for the season.)

    Yes, I recommend this product.
