Q: Is there anything I should do proactively when installing this to prevent it freezing up in winter the way the one it's replacing always has?
a year agoA: Nothing to be done during installation, I suggest spraying it periodically with silicone spray or penetrating oil to keep water out

Q: Is this use securely re-keys? How many keys this combo provides? Does this provide the blue-key(reset key), I can re-key myself? If it doesn't provide the reset key, is this 5 pins key? So I can use 5 pins tool to reset it?
9 years agoA: This item comes with two keys – it is 5 pin configuration. Schlage no longer utilizes the SecureKey (blue key) concept. If the lock needs to be re-keyed it can be done by a customer with the correct tool or a locksmith.
