Cordless Option for the win

I have a kitchen island with no electric outlets so I was looking for a cordless option and this was exactly what I was looking for. I use it for parties and it keeps the food warm without drying it out. For reviews stating that it's a hazard because it stays hot...well that's the whole point! 😅

This HOT tray is dangerous

This unit does not have an on/off switch. Once you've had it plugged in for 8 minutes, you're committed, and you cannot turn it off. Even unplugging it does not work, because of the built-in cordless function. It stays energized and really HOT for an hour. If you happen to have an accident or emergency, your only option is to very carefully carry it HOT outside to let it cool eventually.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Not good with children around

This warming tray does work as advertised, BUT, we found it to be a little dangerous. A 1000w is way too hot for a warming tray, (it is very easy to burn yourself) and the most dangerous part of this unit is that there is no way to turn it off. There is no on/off switch. Your only option is to unplug it. But even then it remains dangerously hot for over an hour. We do not recommend this product. We returned it for a refund.

Hi Hot Tray, thank you for your review. Salton Appliance takes your feedback seriously. The instruction manual for the Salton Hotray model TWT40 is an essential read. It clearly states in multiple sections that close supervision is required when this appliance is used by or near children. Just like with any appliance that generates heat, such as your stove, it must be used with great caution.

I own two of these beauties. They are great for entertaining, but I tend to use them more on weekends for breakfast for my family. It keeps pancakes warm without drying them out (which I find tends to happen when using the warming drawer on my oven), so we can go back for seconds that are "just right!" in terms of temperature.
