Good capacity, boils quickly. The only downside is the lid doesn’t open all the way, so it is slightly more awkward to fill than if the entire opening was free

It's a great kettle, good size and boils quickly. It's also very affordable. My only concern is that sometimes when it boils it doesn't shut off automatically. I realize it's because the steam is pushing the lid upward, so I need to press it downward lightly with my finger and then it shuts off.

Safety concerns

We bought it and returned it because it doesn't stop at the boiling point. Our old one stops in 43 sec after it reaches the boiling point this one after 3+ minutes from the boiling point it still didn't stop. I used a stopwatch to time them both. It's dangerous if someone thinks it will stop automatically, it doesn't and goes outside. I hope they don't put it back on the shelf. Very dangerous
No, I do not recommend this product.

Got this to replace a Hamilton Beach that had run out of life. This one very similar in terms of capacity and appearance. So far all is good, got it on sale too so a good value.

Q: Good evening. After purchasing a new Salton kettle, I encountered a problem right from the first use. The kettle doesn't shut off automatically. It continues to boil continuously, with increasing power, producing an excessive amount of steam.

A: Yes I have noticed that issue also. I believe it's a problem with the lid, it raises slightly when hot and doesn't stay shut so it won't turn off.
