This self-sticking cement board tape is specifically designed for adhesive projects with drywall or thin mortar. It's the only tape proven effective for cement applications, made from the same alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh embedded in some cement boards to boost strength and crack resistance. Cement backer boards - sometimes called tile backing sheets - are wall panels made with cement and other water-proof materials. They've become the standard substrate behind ceramic tiles, especially in wet areas prone to moisture penetration issues. This tape helps form a water-tight seal between the board joints.
