Can't comment. just poured it in

i just poured it into my differential so i can't say how well it works. i wasn't impressed with the staff when looking for it at the Canadian tire, they didn't seem to care. its been a couple times in the store automotive where the staff just told me to look for whatever i was asking for in the aisles and to figure it out myself. quite rude, really

A: Thanks for your inquiry, Zariyah. Based on your vehicle, you should use the Max Gear 75W-90 (0280241) as opposed to the 75W-140. Max Gear Oil could be used in your manual transmission and rear differential.

Q: I have a 1996 Jaguar XJ6. Will this oil work for the rear differential? If not, what do you recommend?

A: Thanks for your inquiry, Dave. 80W-90 was the OE factory fill, but unfortunately we do not packing this viscosity in quart bottles any longer. For your 1996 Jaguar XJ-6's differential we recommend Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90. You can safely and effectively replace an 80W-90 gear oil with Max Gear 75W-90 because at operating temperatures an 80W-90 and a 75W-90 will be virtually the same viscosity, they are both 90 weight gear oils. Importantly there is also absolutely no down side to using a gear oil that simply provides better cold flow. Max Gear 75W-90 has better cold flow than an 80W-90, but at operating temps it is virtually the same viscosity. On a multi viscosity oil, the number in front of the W(which stands for winter not weight) is only an indicator of that oil’s cold flow characteristics, it is the second number that always the most important number. Also there is no issue when using Max Gear, which includes an appropriate and correct dose of the limited slip differential friction modifier(LSD-FM) additive, in a non-limited slip differential, in that scenario the LSD-FM will just be along for the ride when there are no LSD clutches to treat. A: Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not offer a SAE 80. Max Gear 75W-90 will likely work well, though it is heavier than the OEM fluid. A better choice, and one that is a 75W-80 in viscosity grade, is Royal Purple Synchromax. Synchromax is our recommendation for this transfer case application.

A: Yes, the Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-140 is the product to use for the power transfer unit of both the 2014 Ford Taurus and Edge. The factory capacity of the PTU on a 2014 Ford Taurus is listed at 0.55 quarts, and the PTU capacity on a 2014 Ford Edge is listed at 0.4 quarts.

A: Yes, Max-Gear 75W-140 is exactly what we recommend for a 2014 Ram 1500, 5.7L with limited-slip. It takes approximately 2.3 quarts and does not required addition of the limited-slip friction modifier. This additive is already in the Max-Gear formula.
