Works great!

Great potting mix but it should be kept indoors. My only complaint is the fungus gnats that come free with every bag

We are sorry to hear about your experience when using Root Farm Hydro Potting Mix. Insects are not present at the time of bagging, they can enter the "breathing" holes in the bag, or through larger holes if bag was damaged, during shipping or storage at the retailer or after purchased. At your convenience, please contact us to see what we can do to help. We can be reached at 1-877-220-3090. Scotts_Hawthorne

Q: Can this be used to repot house plants,or do I need to mix in some other soil.

  • A: i use this on a regular basis for 4 years now. this is hydroponic growing medium made to drain fast and provide air to plant roots almost impossible to drown your plants and less chances of mold issues as it dries out faster than soil. Love it.

Q: I planted a cannabis seedling in the soil and after 10 days the soil started growing a white fuzzy mold with light watering and sufficient light. Same for left over soil in the bag. How is this treated?

  • A: Fungal/mold spores are a natural part of any good soil. It just takes the right conditions for the spores to develop into a fungus or mold. The fungus/mold only becomes a problem if there is an overgrowth. Overgrowth occurs when the soil/mulch is too wet. Mold and fungus on growing media will go away with sunlight, air circulation and allowing soil to dry out between waterings.

  • A: We recommend repotting plants in fresh soil after 1 year. The plant food in the Root Farm Hydo Potting Mix will feed for approximately 30 days. After 30 days we recommend regularly feeding your plants with a fertilizer
