Simple to use

Found it simple to use. I utilized the Red Tek website to gain a little how-to and also YouTube just to ensure I did it correctly. Only place in town that would refill my AC in the truck wanted to charge up to $500. Well guys, I did it for $60 with this kit. Ice cold in the truck now. Went from blowing out 26.6°C down to 4.8°C from the front vents. Super happy

Q: Refill for R134a Hi, Can I use the kit to refill the AC of my car which is running now on R134a? Thanks,

A: Not advised to mix refrigerants. Evacuate 134a first. Two cans in kit are sufficient to charge system when a can of sealer is also used.

Q: can this be added to existing r12 freon Is this compatable with r12, that you can just top up existing freon or do you need to drain and then add this product. Is there any reason it can not be used in household a/c as r12 replacement.

A: There is a household product sold in cans, and another for cars only.

A: i believe that this would work just be aware you may need to analyze the oil in your system and make sure it is well lubricated and what is the reason for a leak ?

Q: I have tried to use this, followed the instructions but still the refrigerant is not flowing through the hose. Is there something wrong with the gauge and the hose?

A: Ya it sounds like you might not have punctured the top of the can. Did you screw the “ dial “ down all the way and then back up again? p.s. screw the “ dial “ back down again to seal the can if you don’t use the whole can. Leave the hose and fitting on the can in case you need a top up in a few months or a year.

Q: does this product have a leak sealer

A: The tape works great when pulled as it is applied so that the sealing with activate. I had a pretty big leak on a large house drain tube and wrapped it around about three or four times pulling the tape taut and the thing stopped leaking. I needed to sometimes cut the tape to overlap hard to get at the back against a wall but the tape sticks to itself well. It saved me a lot of work in not having to replace that pipe.

Q: Top-up Redtek a12 to a R12? I have a R12 car a/c. The compressor goes on/off frequently. If I just top-up it with Redtek a12 w/o purging the system, will it save my time? If someone knows this, would you please let me know? I don't want to damage my system too. Thanks. K. wu.

A: You most likely have a leak somewhere, so a topup will probably work until it leaks out again.... that is if you somehow manage to add the right amount without adding too much and ending up damaging your compressor. Also, keep in mind that by using this product you will contaminate your system with air and humidity which will eventually cause damage to the internal components.
