Not region free!

I have some DVD's from England and this unit will not play them, apparently there is no hack available yet either.

A durable, low cost, multi-format DVD player

I purchased one of these 4 years ago, since then I aquired 2 more in our household. These machines are run daily, all day for the kids and they still run as good as the day I bought them. Even when I renovated in the living room and drywall dust was everywhere, these machines have held up. Any skipping was remedied with a quick blow into the dvd slot. This week I purchased a PAL format region free dvd set and tried by chance to see if they would play, and although it isn't advertised and i could not find any reviews about these machines being multi-format capable, the machines all can play PAL. For $40 (on special) this is a great little machine.

Good DVD Player at a Great Price. Will play even the most scratched discs that other, more expensive players fail to read. Easy to use, decent for the prize!..

Nasty Rattle

I purchased this product for a secondary tv. Quality of the picture as good however it had a nasty rattle when you used a disc. Sounded like a chainsaw. I will be returning it to the store.

Needs HDMI connection!

I tried using this player with a Toshiba flat screen TV, using the yellow video and the two audio cables. The video was good but not the audio. I had to buy for 8$ an HDMI cable and connect with this cable to the TV and everything is good. There is an incompatibiliy problem for the other connection, not mentioned in the manuals. Same problem with the Toshiba player

Q: USB SLOT? Does this unit have a USB input connector built-in to it?. I cannot see one in the photo close-up, but I thought it could be in the rear or one of the sides of the unit. Thanks.
