I purchased this filet knife as a Christmas gift for my son. My husband already has one & says it is great for fileting fish. Purchased this gift on sale so that was a bonus!

I got this because it seems to be a very popular knife and I needed a fillet knife. The steel seems to be pretty good because it sharpens really well. I had to sharpen it first because it wasn't sharp enough for my liking. The small hone that comes with it doesn't seem to do much so don't think it will sharpen the knife for you. OK for touch ups I guess.Knife is extremely light due to the type of wood on the handle. The leather sheath that comes with it is thick leather and well made.
