Poor quality

Poor quality. Bought online, and within 2 months, it started making odd noises. Brought it in for a warranty claim and after a month, was told that it was unfixable.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good bike but CHECK EVERYTHING OVER!

Had this bike for about a month now and have ridden it almost every day. Decent bike but if you get one be prepared to check everything over for proper attachment and tightness, and then maybe watch some videos on how to adjust things like brakes and shifters. I think most problems encountered with this bike are due to poor in store assembly and are relatively easily fixed. However one recent problem I ran into wasn't due to that. I noticed while riding the peddling had developed an occasional hitch, and the bike was shifting weirdly. Turns out I had a chain link on the verge of falling apart! (See photo) I don't ride this bike roughly or do any wild things with it, I just ride it over paved roads and some gravelled roads and well maintained trails, so I'm not sure how this happened. But I never had a chain do this before on any bike I ever owned. I got it back together and it's been OK since.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great bike, poor assembly

The bike is a solid value when on sale. Aluminum frame with decent looking welds. Components are about what you'd expect at this price point, which are fine for everyday riding. The fork is weak but standard for a bike at this pricepoint. It will take some of the harshness out of small bumps on your arms. Overall, the bike is reasonably light for the pricepoint, and in my opinion it looks sweet. The problem, which has been outlined by several other reviewers, is the assembly. Parts can be loose, derailleurs and brakes not adjusted appropriately, handlebars not exactly perpendicular to the wheel. Fortunately, I have experience assembling and adjusting bikes so I was able to ensure it was fit to ride before my daughter rode it, but it really shouldn't be the responsibility of the customer to make sure that the bike will function correctly before their children ride it, potentially onto a road along side cars. Canadian Tire has an atrocious track record for assembling bikes correctly - if you know anything about bikes, the state of their in-store bike inventory speaks volumes. This is why gave it a one star review.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Extremely poor quality and service

I bought this bike for my son and within two weeks had to bring it back to the store three separate times. Every major component needed adjustment. The chain was so poorly set up that it had to be completely replaced because it was “too long,” causing it to slip between the frame and spokes and jam everything up. For a brand-new bike, this is completely unacceptable. I expected something safe and reliable, not repeated trips back to the store just to make it rideable. The amount of time wasted dealing with issues makes it clear there are serious quality control and assembly problems. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Is this bike okay for someone that is 6 feet tall?

3 Answers
  • A: I'm 6 ft tall and own this bike and have no problem riding it confidently and comfortably. I don't feel cramped or bent out of shape while riding it. Getting the seat to the proper level for your height is key. However that can be a personal taste thing. My son who is the same height as me has the same bike, and he prefers the seat all the way down.
