Nice, but not worth it.

Nice Bike, but it has issues that developed, after a few weeks of riding it. It had problems with the rear sprocket. It makes all kinds of creaking and cracking noises. I afraid of taking it on long rides. I think there is wheel bearing issues. When I brought it back to the store the problem was not address, they fixed the sprocket. I hope the bearings do not fall out when I'm a 100km from home. It is already rusting. In a nutshell it is not worth the money I paid for it even though it was on sale. the last Raleigh bike i got from CT last me 23 years before it totally wore out. The next bike I got from CT lasted 3 years. Time will tell.

Good bike, no issues so far

Good bike for our teenager. Seems to be holding up better than previous supercycle mountain bikes for getting around town

Light and fast

lightweight and fast on straight aways, obviously a bit more effort up hills. Used it on a trail and it did good, may upgrade the tires to thicker ones but its at its best on pavement! Purchased assembled, needs a tune up right away or your first gear won’t work and will skips gears. The seat is extremely uncomfortable but that’s typical for this style of bike. Happy with my purchase and I’m a female with no issues on this bike. Got this bike on a Sunday, it was pretty busy but I waited in bikes for half hour, sales associate came and did put air in the tires, they didn’t have a pressure gauge though. lol Lucky the bikes light because it was on tbe top rack and I had to get it to check it while waiting.

Great value for the price. Bike was assembled well at the store and has been great to ride. Solid component set and equivalent to other similar bikes found around where I live.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: Shouldn't the seat post be movable? I am 5'10 and when I sit on the seat, I can't place my feet flat on the ground. I have to slide off the seat and straddle the top tube when stopping. Have removed the seat post clamp and it still won't budge up or down.

  • A: The seat post on this bike should be easily moveable. If the seat post is seized we'd recommend you make an appointment to see the bike department associate where you bought the bike to have it repaired. A seat post should be cleaned and greased annualy as a part of regular bike maintenance. Please note the minimum insertion mark must always remain hidden inside the frame’s seat tube.

Q: Does anyone know what the widest mountain type tire is that can be installed on this particular bike rim and still have frame clearance on the rear? i.e. 1.9", 2.0", 2.1" 2.2? Thank you.

  • A: Yes CanadianTires Mountain bike tire #073-7297-8 will fit on these rims nicely but to be on the safe side you should cut the most outer knobs off. An oiled box cutter knife works well (dont cut into the wall).
