Kids bike

It’s light and perfect for my 6 yr old son.

Light weight and easy to use. Needs a shifting model.

The alloy frame keeps the bike light! My son was showing off how he could lift the bike compared to his heavier 12” steel frame. The bike features an easy step through and child ergonomics that allows kids to just get on the bike and ride and go off when they need to climb that hill. The change to hand brakes is welcome along with the single speed wheel, no more mistakenly hitting the brakes while learning to pedal. This is very comparable to the big brands like Trek and Giant in some cases this Raleigh has better ergonomics. The only thing I would change is the addition of shifting. It doesn’t take long and your child would benefit greatly from it and getting a bike That’s a size too big also isn’t helpful. Three speeds is all it needs a climbing granny gear and a faster gear in addition.

Excellent and reliable

I bought this for our 5yr old. It's fantastic. Been working perfectly for us. It's a bit more expensive than comparable models but it's well made and super light. We had originally bought another model from CT and found it too heavy and cumbersome for him to handle. We've had issues with the bike chain in our previous kid bikes that kept coming off its rails -- frustrating. We've had this for about a year now and has been flawless.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: I understand this bike has limited handlebar height adjustment. Could you tell me the maximum height increase that’s safely possible?

1 Answer
  • A: The stem connected to the handlebar can be adjusted in height slightly using spacers. It is recommended to see a bicycle technician in regards to this.

Q: Can you put 18” wheels in this bike? Our son is tall and we are finding that the handlebars are too low but the stem riser won’t go high enough.

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, We don't recommend modifications be made to the wheels on this bike. However, there are lots of 18" bike options in the Canadian Tire lineup. Also, the Raleigh Meteor 071-2064 comes in a 20" wheel size option. here: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/raleigh-meteor-youth-bike-with-reflectors-7-speed-20-in-wheel-grey-0712064p.html?rq=meteor+bike
