The negative reviews about leaking and not being able to get this thing tight enough under any circumstances to not leak are true, I will be returning this product and seeking something else.
If anyone's wondering yes I did use Teflon tape, it did not matter or make a difference.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Have no idea regarding that type of filtration. Bought it for filtering out rust scale from old galvanized pipes in our camp which was clogging up and plugging the shower heads. Worked perfectly for eliminating that problem.

Q: Does this reduce sulfur odor?

A: The unit is designed to reduce chlorine and associated odour. It is not designed to reduce hydrogen sulphide (sulfur). If the odour is predominantly in the showers, we suggest that you check with your water heater company. If the "sulfur" odour is in both hot and cold, please call Rainfresh at 1800 667 8072 (Mon to Fri 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time) for recommendations on whole house filters that will reduce this odour.

Q: Will your filter, filter out sodium hypochlorite in our water supply system, I have sensitive skin to this chemical & would like to add it to my shower head. Thank You Jim

A: The filter removed enough of the chlorine and or choromine so that my skin no longer turned red and itchy. We are using our 3rd filter. The slight downfall of the housing, the design thread to attach to shower fawcet to prevent leaking. Needs to be more surface area for the fawcet to seal against.

A: I use it to filter my shower water, it has reduced or eliminated rust from old pipes, and other minerals. I have no idea about dry skin, I would attribute that to a dietary issue.

Q: Does this also filter out chloramines? The water where I live has chlorine and then ammonia added to it to create a long lasting chloramine residual.

A: yes, i'm skin sesitive, i know after 42yrs. anything corrosive gets me itchy, drys skin $ when u start to get a little warm, pores open, corrosive film sinks in, makes u itchy dry flaky, the filter takes out big %. whatever it says on package? pretty close to trurh.works great. wife luvs it too.
