Way too expensive!! It filters lead and many chemicals. A year ago it was $29.99, now it is over $40!! Extreme mark up! This is criminal!!

Q: How do you fit it in?

A: The cartridge only fits inside a housing that was designed specifically for it. The housing is a two piece assembly, the top part plumbs the water supply and exit, the bottom part is a twist off container that holds the filter cartridge. Filter removal process is very intuitive when you see the housing.

Q: will this filter remove tannin ? my shop water is lake fed. i am trying to remove colour from water.. only for washing my vehicles.

A: I use this filter in combination with the HP1 and the VC1 for drinking from our kitchen tap. The end result is pure crystal clear water with absolutely no taste. The only way to find out if it removes Tannin, is to use that filter. Sorry if I didn't answer your question.

Q: water filter cartridges. where do I find the actual openings of the filters? I am looking for filters that are rated 0.5 microns, 1 micron and 10 microns.

A: Sorry, we're not sure what you mean by "openings". Do you mean the actual system that uses this LR1 cartridge (62-1028)? If so, you can use this with Rainfresh Drinking Water System 2 (62-1001). If you have an existing water filtration system that uses standard 10"L x 2.5" dia filter cartridges, you can use the LR1 cartridge as an upgraded filter for reduction of lead, chemicals and chlorine. There are several options available for various micron ratings as indicated by you. Q: how effective is it in removing radon?

A: High grade activated carbon filters (such as the 62-1028/LR1 filter cartridge) are known to reduce Radon from drinking water. However, even though the 62-1028/LR1 cartridge has been tested and certified for reduction of more than 50 different chemicals, lead, VOC, chlorine, etc, it has not been specifically tested for Radon reduction, so no actual claim can be made.
