Product Details

The Quest Rigid Utility Mesh is a plastic replacement for conventional, metal hardware cloth, ideal for high moisture areas as it will not corrode or rust. This synthetic mesh performs well as caging, screening, insulation support, and for deck and balcony enclosures. The rigid but flexible design features a 1/2” (1.27 cm) grid size to effectively bar small intruders or create enclosures for small animals.

Q: Can groundhogs chew through this plastic hardware cloth? I'm looking for something to protect the bottom of my tool shed.

A: I would think the answer would be unfortunately yes... you would most likely need corn crib wire or galvanized steel wire the same size as the plastic hardware cloth!

Q: Is the plastic safe for a puppy chew on? Would like to use this to puppy-proof the gap under my fence and I'm worried he might chew on it.

A: Hello, The Rigid utility mesh you are planning to use is made with HDPE, which is also used for milk bottles and margarine containers, as far as the plastic goes, your puppy will be fine. However, due to the profile of the mesh, if you allow your puppy to break off portions and ingest them, the jagged edges may cause issues, as they could be sharp due to the chewing. Usually the mesh is small enough to deter chewing, just try to keep the edges hidden.

Q: Is the product made of food safe HDPE? Also, will this product withstand a PH of 11 -13?
