New dog loves this stuff?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just got a new dog from the shelter and he had very little appetite for days. He barely touched the Blue Wilderness kibble we bought for him, even mixed with the stuff the shelter gave us. We switched to Purina One and he scarfed it down like he hadn't eaten for days!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this my dog won’t eat anything except for this. This is her favorite and whenever we all pop out, she’ll come on to see it. It’s amazing. I love it. She loves it so wonderful. She’s so happy all the time after she eats it’s great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this dog food because it doesn’t have all that crazy stuff in it. I inherited this dog from my son when he came home from Italy. He was stationed there for 3 years and this was the only dog food he would feed his dogs. At first it was the lamb and rice formula but I found that she liked chicken and rice better. I don’t know why but I think it was because the lamb was a little more harder to digest than the chicken. So I switched to chicken and she has done really well with it and she just loves it so much. I wouldn’t feed her anything else. Every time I feed her she just gobbles it up and can’t hardly wait until she gets fed again.

Q: The Purina One Smartblend Chicken and Rice doesn’t mention breed size so I’m wondering if the kibble is too big for a 6 lb toy poodle. Thanks!

A: It might be. My dogs are all large breeds, so I don't have a great frame of reference, but for a toy poodle, I think I would select something sized a bit smaller than this stuff. These aren't so big that your dog wouldn't be able to eat them, just might not be the most comfortable. I'd suggest that you pick up the smallest bag possible, and try them as treats to see if your dog can comfortably eat it - if so, you're set!
