Frozen on delivery
a day ago
I received this today and it's supposed to weigh 13 lbs but it is soaking wet probably frozen and don't know if it's viable for use. It's weight is closer to 30 lbs.
It's also dated December 2021 , today is December 2026 ,no rotation. I will try drying it out and transplant my girls into it asap

A: HP PRO MIX is a high porosity soil meaning it dries out quickly and requires A plant to be watered more frequently. Typically every other day so this as an only Material wouldn't be good for a lemon tree

A: While it is one of the best soilless media for cannabis, the high porosity which provides a quick wet/dry period makes it less than ideal for seed starting and seedlings. While using Pro Mix for I simply mix in a large amount of worm castings which not only provides lots of nitrogen and minerals, but also helps it retain moisture for longer periods between watering making it better for seedlings.

Q: I’m replanting a 5 foot ficus tree that has outgrown its current pot and this seems perfect. Will I need to mix it with any other type of soil or will this do on its own? Thanks!

A: Hello rgrth, this product contains sphagnum peat moss (65-75%), perlite, limestone for pH adjustment, wetting agent and mycorrhizae. You could add some coco fiber or compost to help retain moisture. Thank you.

Q: Can Pro-Mix HP Growing medium be used as a soil amendment in the garden? We have heavy clay soil (almost solid clay) so need to amend it - particularly for aeration.

A: No ,I would suggest you don't ,better is to use compost & peat moss & sand .Short term it works but you end up with just the vermiculite ,after a couple of years, and as that breaks don it affects plant growth

Q: What is the Ph of Pro-mix HP with mycorrhizae?

A: With the lime that is already mixed in it keeps it right around 7 (neutral) - if you add some organic matter ie. leaf mold, worm casings they will bring it down slightly to the perfect pH for cannabis.
