    IT'S AN EXCELLANT TOOL

I DRIVE A LOT ON DIRT ROADS AND GET A FEW FLATS I FOUND THAT WITH THIS TOOL IT WORKS GREAT REMOVING THE LUG NUTS THAT WERE TIGHTENED AT THE GARAGE WITH HIGH PRESSURE AIR TOOLS A LOT BETTER THAN HAVING TO USE THE LUG WRENCHES PROVIDED WITH THE TRUCK

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Does the job!

I bought this to put my winter tires on and off. I used to do them with a breaker bar, but that would hurt my back. This impact wrench does exactly what it is supposed to do: takes the lugs off and puts them back on without any fuss. It's certainly not fast, but it's probably still quicker than using the breaker bar - and saves my back. My only two complaints: 1) It sometimes takes a few attempts to get the torque tightened to max. No problem, just have to press the button a few times to make sure it's satisfied that it reached the desired tightness. 2) it only does increments of 20lbs - my tires have to go on at 100lbs, but this only gives the option of 90 or 110. Remember to manually check the torque of each lug yourself with a torque gauge - you would not want to depend on this alone. I still have to firm up a few by hand.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    So Far So Good

After much searching, I bought this to make the job of swapping all-season tires for winter tires (and back again) on my two vehicles faster and easier. I didn't want to deal with air compressors, didn't want to spend a lot, and wanted to be sure what I got was up to the task - not all impact wrenches can remove car bolts! The manual states that you should let the wrench sit for 30 mins between 10 bolts. So this may not be good for prolonged activity. I'll definitely not be changing tires on both cars at the same time! The unit is very powerful, and (relatively) easily removed all bolts and put them on again to the point that I couldn't physically tighten them any more with my lug wrench. Be sure you understand how 12v-car impact drivers work. They're not as "instant" as air or other powered impact drivers, and require time to charge between strikes. Each of my bolts came off within 6 strikes (approx 5 seconds), and went on again about as fast. The LED torque readout and selectable torque is what won me over to this device, and works quite well to prevent over tightening. My fat fingers have a hard time with the cramped rocker/trigger, but it wasn't too much of an issue. It comes with four sizes of nut, a replacement fuse, and a cord long enough to do each side of almost any vehicle. The vehicle does not need to be running when you use it, but the key should be in accessory mode. Time will tell if the quality of this will hold up to my use, so I'm rating 4 stars for not being up-front about the capabilities, cramped handle and questionable durability. I asked about the warranty here and CT's response was that the manufacturer's warranty is one year, CT's is only 90 days in original condition. Which is fine, except that this web page states that it's replaceable at any Canadian Tire in that year. So if I have issues with mine in the first year, that's where I'm going.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Q: I'm concerned about the durability of this wrench. I want to swap tires on 2 cars, twice a year. At 20 bolts/car, that's 160 uses (bolts off & on). I note it comes with a "1 year exchange warranty". This differs from CT's 90 day return policy. Does CT offer extended warranties?

    1 Answer
    • A: Canadian Tire's 90-day return policy applied to products that are in original condition and packaging. The 1 year exchange warranty is the manufacturer's warranty. Should you require additional information on warranties and returns, please contact your local Canadian Tire store.

Q: Use with household electricity? If I want to do a tire changeover in my driveway -- will this impact wrench be suitable? Thanks...

    1 Answer
    • A: It may be possible to use a household adapter; however, the device really seems designed to use "car power" to change a flat tire on the road.
