No really Universal

Didn't fit on my Moen tap setup. Leaked like a sieve and I couldn't get it off due to the c clip. Ended up cutting it off and plugging the hose until I can replace the entire tap set.

Q: Just installed this sprayer using the hardware supplied. When I turn the main faucet on, water drips out of the nozzle of the sprayer as if the handle was being slightly depressed. Is this a faulty spayer issue or is there a way to fix?
