Good, but it should have been made out of rubber.

We use it as a drain for a portable AC unit. It should have been made out of rubber, not PVC plastic. This plastic is so smooth & slippery that it slides out of the bucket we put it in, but one can make it stay in its place by covering its last 20cm or so in masking tape.

Q: Will this fit the average electric/gas water heater?

A: I used this hose to drain my portable Dehumidifier/ air conditioner. It is connected to the top drain outlet & into a bucket I use to hold the drained water so I can empty it periodically. It is a typical hose connection for a garden hose so it should fit your water heater if you are using it to bleed out water.
