Q: Plumbshop Compression Union 1/4-in OD Tube - the rings are not symetrical and only fit on the pipe on one side of the sleeve. Is this the proposed arrangement as the fittings leak despite tightening progressively? No instructions to clarify this!

A: Hi Robert, Sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulty with Plumbshop PS62-4 PEF. Instructions are generally provided in the package. Instructions are as follows: 1. Slide compression nut and sleeve onto tube. 2. Square and bottom tube into fitting as far as it will go. Be sure tube enters straight. If tilted, the but will cock the sleeve and prevent a good seal. 3. Tighten nut over sleeve onto fitting wrench tight.
