    Bad out of the box

Didn’t work out of the box. Hot wires the system and everything worked so the only thing it could possibly be was the relay, and I’m positive I had it wired properly.

    Great Product

Used this to trigger a battery isolator/relay for a dual battery set up on my side by side. Was very easy to install and set up and worked as required.

Q: Does anyone know what the max wattage this thing can handle is? 480W? Would 250V @ 30A circuit fry this thing?

    • A: I am a little bit late to the party here, but here's my best answer: A relay is like a switch with a control circuit. The control coil here is rated 12V so if you are going to use a higher voltage than this to activate it you will need some kind of current limiter to keep the coil power down (a resistor should work.) The main switch is low resistance, and is rated here for 30A. As long as the other components in the circuit are higher resistance than the relay, they will experience most of the voltage drop. For this reason, in most cases the supply voltage for the switching path doesn't matter as long as you don't break the current spec.

Q: Are electrical datasheets available for this product?

    1 Answer
    • A: They should be available from Pilot with some looking and checking that you are at the right site. Their website had a fair bit of useful information to help with the connections.

Q: I want part number 90080 87010 relay for fog lights Corolla 2007.will this work. All I know is the part a universal relay so if it fits it will work?

    1 Answer
    • A: Universal electrical relay’s will work for various different applications, including fog lights. You need to verify installation contacts (same orientation), AMP size does not exceed maximum product and vehicle electrical range, and you have no other shorts or wiring issues in your vehicle. Once all of the above has been confirmed, universal relays can be used.
