Hard to clean and gets dirty fast

The fountain was great at first, but it's been more than a year and I see the cons of it.
CLEANING
First, the cleaning is hard - there are crevices that are really hard to clean, so it takes quite long to clean. I feel like the design of this water fountain wasn't really well thought over. Moreover, it gets dirty really fast. The filtration doesn't seem to be really good either. For the price, I don't think it's worth it. I'm planning on changing the water fountain as I cleaned it today and smelled a weird smell. I'll be switching to stainless steel soon. Also, since it's made out of plastic, it's the perfect environnement for mold creation, so that's why it needs to be cleaned often.
USAGE
One of my cats is picky about his water, and when it gets dirty he usually doesn't drink from it that much anymore. My other cat likes to use his paw to move the water, and sometimes he gets the top portion of the water fountain off, and it can cause a mess. When there's a mess, there's a LOT of water everywhere. Luckily, I put a mat underneath the fountain so it doesn't always go on my floor.
NOISE
If there's a portion of the motor inside the fountain that's misplaced a bit, there's an annoying noise. And when the water is under the "LOW" level, there's also the water running noise, which somehow gets on my nerves. However, when the water level is higher than the "LOW" level, there's no noise at all.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Really good cat fountain

I had one for a few years now until the pump gave out and immediately got a replacement.
They are easy to clean (both the main fountain and pump motor) and my cats all choose different points on the fountain to drink from. They like constant running water.

Q: I bought this fountain the end of December 2022. I have found that there is water that is always on the floor. Not sure where it is coming from. Has anyone had this happen before? How do I stop this?

A: Yes. I had this until I read the reviews here and one person said that there is a slider on the pump that can turn down the water flow. I turned it down and no more water on the floor.

A: i don't know, but any small submersible water pump will work. we had a larger metal cat fountain for 10 years. and went through 3 pumps before the thing rusted out.

A: Some will evaporate and some will be consumed by the cat. Keep it relatively full, and if it starts gurgling or water stops coming out the top fill it RIGHT AWAY because the pump is running dry.
