The 0.5-gallon Gravity Waterer is a breeze to use and should last a whole day without needing refill for a pet of 25 lbs or less. It doesn't take much space either so it fits very well into a playpen.

Great idea, crappy lid

If you are going to make something that holds a gallon of water, how about put a better lid on it? The threading is crap. I never know if it is on right. Works fine if you don't dump a gallon of water on the floor when you flip it upside down

This is just perfect for my rabbits! Regular water bottles, despite being marketed for rabbit use, actually pose a threat of dehydration. If you add one to your rabbit's habitat, you need to have another source of water. So why even bother? I love how this can't be tipped over like normal water bowls, because my rabbits are pretty large! I don't worry about them getting dehydrated when I'm at work now. My mom has something similar for her chickens as well, but she uses it as a feeder, so I guess it works well for that too! Anyway, I can't vouch for dog or cat use, but I'm sure it would work! My bunnies sure like it!
