A two part, hand kneadable, putty type industrial strength, steel-reinforced epoxy in stick form, which is used to bond and repair metallic materials that will be exposed to high temperatures up to 300° F. Sets in 5 minutes and cures in 1 hour to a metallic steel grey color. When fully cured it can be drilled, tapped, machined, filed and painted. This epoxy is NSF Certified safe for repairs that come in contact with drinking water and is a non-rusting, non-shrinking, non-flammable, moisture resistant and no VOC formulation. Q: Will this product stand exposure to oil?
3 years agoA: Hello chris b, thanks for the great question. Yes Permatex Steel Weld Epoxy is resistant to oil, it is also resistant to other shop fluids such as fuels, water, and solvents. Permatex Steel Weld Epoxy repairs, fills and bonds most metal surfaces and is a great alternative to welding, once it is fully cured it can be drilled, threaded, and machined. Q: Is this adhesive food safe? I have a food steamer basket and one of its wield points have detached.
6 years agoA: Hello, thank you for your question regarding Permatex Cold Weld Metal Epoxy. While this product will likely provide successful results, the metal epoxy is not considered food safe. It has not been evaluated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for use in contact with food. Therefore, we do not recommend using it for this application. Thank you.

Q: Is it electrically conductive? I need to repair an electrical connection. Neighbouring parts are plastic so I cannot use solder.
8 years agoA: The product you are inquiring about is not electrically conductive. It repairs, fills and bonds to iron, steel, brass, bronze, aluminum and copper. Once cured, it can be drilled, tapped, threaded, filed, sanded and painted. Resists most automotive, shop and cleaning fluids.

Q: Can electricity pass through? can this product be used to reattach the tab on a rear window defrost that came apart?
10 years agoA: We have a product listed at Canadian Tire Specific for this application. This product does not have conductivity properties. We would recommend using the kit below for this application. We have also included a link to an instructional video to further assist with the repair.
