Paw Patrol spin-cast fishing rod

This little Paw Patrol designed rod and reel was all that was needed to nudge our, not quite, 3 year old grandson to learn how to cast and reel in. His Pops (Daddy) had him taught within a half hour.

Cute but reel didn’t work.

I’m not looking for a real rod for my toddler but I had to go in and replace parts to get the reel To work. Why didn’t I just return it you ask. That’s a two fold question.
1) we were out in the middle of nowhere and I’m a handy person so we were able to get it to work. 2). I hate that we are an everything is disposable society if I returned it it would likely end up in a landfill or for $2 in parts and time with my dad sourcing the problem out was a better solution in my opinion.
1)What I changed drilled a hole in the fish and added magnets to add weight to the line and allow my son to fish for other things. Helps with casting training
2)Made fish detachable so he can change between real fishing and toy fishing.

Awesome little fishing rod

My three year old grandson love the fishing rod, the reel allows for easy casting that the little one already has picked up how to do. I highly recommend this setup.
