not well received

bought feeder so I could catch better pictures of the Blue Jays. They have stopped coming to the yard. Birds can't land on the saucer, frantically flapping around, trying to grab a peanut. Been there weeks still full, but they did take the peanuts I had put in the saucer
No, I do not recommend this product.

Blue jays have a preferred food as there is more meat to a meal of peanuts rather than sunflowers or other seeds. If no other seed is available in your area they'll feeder (using the flapping technique to stabilize themselves at the feeder.
They do need a larger base so they can sit and feeder without issue, and also so they can look around for other larger birds of prey.
Please note alternate bird feeders Canadian Tire carries that are suitable for blue jays are:
CTC # 159-1867 Deluxe Gazebo Feeder
CTC # 142-9168 Cedar Feeder
CTC # 142-1970 Platform feeder (This is the best feeder for this specific bird)
CTC # 142-6600 Recycled plastic feeder
