With all else level, the latch does not line up properly. In order for the latch to close, the gate sags leaving an ugly and uneven look. The holes of the gate/fence are also too big for the poles, so the fence is rickety and not solid. We are very disappointed as we spent over $500 on these pieces and the end result looks like something off Temu.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What do I need to hang the gate? I don't want to connect it to a fence, it needs to stand to close a gap next to the house.

A: You can just get two of the fence posts, and that should work, except it may be hard to have them stand straight enough to hold the gate so it doesn't sag. Also, with no fence sections there to incorporate the gate into, there will be nothing to hold the gate pieces from just resting on the ground, so they won't swing without being lifted.

Q: Does this connect to Finial Fence Panel (Product #59-0333-0)? I see the Finial Panel and Finial Gate are different heights per the specs listed online (panel is 30" high, while gate is 27"), so I'm unsure if these can be used together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A: This is a very easy to install gate, however it is usually meant to work alongside the Finial Collection Fence Panels (059-0333-0) and Fence Posts (059-0341-0). The gate is a swinging/”Saloon-door” style gate so it pivots on the outer portions, which require a post and panel on each end to have it swing open and shut. Installing this fence system can definitely be accomplished as a one person effort and is easy to install – you just align the crimped ends of the panels or gate and pound the fence post through the holes. We have seen the gate used in between pillars (wood/cement/etc.) and it just requires some creativity in selecting how to hang it with brackets. The included portion with the fence gate is just the gate with a latch in the center, and not a full-blown stand-alone gate unit.

Q: When the gate is used with finial post, how do you attach it so it doesn't drop to bottom of post? I am using the gate with a post at either side, creating a fence with the finial fence Cosmopolitan group. Can the gate be used with a post at either side on its own Thanks!

A: I used the gate with the filial posts on its own. To keep the gate from dropping to the bottom of the post , I used the rubber washers that you use with your garden hose (Can. tire sells a pkg. with several) which fit perfectly on the post and keep it from slipping down (3 on each post).
