Q: If there is one spot that is not smooth is it safe or will it eventually be scraped off while using pan? It looks like a tiny pimple on the inside bottom so kind of defective. Sometimes I see that on cheaply made mugs,

A: All the ceramic items are made by handmade and unique. Ceramic products are composed of a variety of different muds and there are multiple minerals in the mud which makes it a shrinkage material which can have very minor imperfections. This which should not affect performance. That being said, we stand behind the quality of our Paderno products which carry a lifetime exchange warranty so if you are not totally satisfied with the quality of your product please return it to store to exchange for a new unit.

Q: Is the item defective when the lid is not in line with the pot?

A: Sorry, I haven't use it yet. However, when I opened the box, the lid seemed to fit well with the receptacle.
