Classic Paderno Quality, Still Going Strong

I’ve been a longtime Paderno user, so I’ll admit I raised an eyebrow when Canadian Tire bought the brand. Happy to report: quality panic averted. This roaster lives up to the Paderno name.
I’d been watching for a good sale and grabbed it just before Christmas. So far, it’s handled a pork tenderloin and a small turkey flawlessly. The lid seals tightly enough to keep moisture where it belongs, and both came out juicy and tender right on temperature—no dry holiday regrets.
With the lid on, it does take up nearly my entire oven, which limits space for side dishes. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you’re juggling multiple trays.
One of my favourite features is the versatility: both the pan and the lid can be used directly on the stovetop. After roasting, I lift the meat out using the included rack and set it on the lid, then put the pan on the stove to make gravy. Fewer dishes to wash? That’s a win every time.
It’s probably best suited for a small to medium turkey—the shape makes anything larger a tight fit—but it’s perfect for my needs. Cleanup has been easy so far as well, though it’s hand-wash only.
All told, this is a solid, well-thought-out roaster that proves Paderno still knows what it’s doing.

Q: The description indicates lid is induction compatible. Wondering if the roaster is as well? I have an older version of this and it is not induction compatible which means I cannot sit roaster on stove top to make gravy with all the good brown bits left.

A: Correct. Only the lid is usable on induction stove top. I just brought mine back to the store after I opened it at home and realized that was the case.

Q: Can the lid be used for cooking pancakes( low heat/lots of oil) on a gas stove? Has one tried making a stir fry in the lid on a gas stove?

A: I personally haven't tried but it's not designed to be in contact with direct heat, so I wouldn't recommend it. You can definitely do it with the bottom of the pan though.

Q: Would I be able to roast a 20lb turking using the induction-capable lid on the bottom, then the larger base used as a cover. This way gravy could then be easily made on an induction stovetop and complaints of an undersone bird may be resolved.

A: Hello, You can use the lid on the bottom as the lid is suitable for induction. We advise you to use caution when using the body on top as it can be heavy and due to the height of the lid the gravy may spill.

Q: There are 2 different lengths of time for 'preheating' turkey roasting pan at higher temps. One says 45 mins in one of your 'answers' to questions and another comment from buyer mentioned 15 minutes. Which is correct? Turkey in pan? Without lid?

A: High heat is never required, or recommended, when using your roaster and because of its solid stainless-steel construction, you may require slightly more cooking time than traditional roasting pans. You may wish to begin cooking without the lid for the first 10-15 minutes to allow the heat to penetrate the roaster. Use the roaster on a rack in the middle of the oven for best performance. Do not heat an empty roasting pan.
