The grip is good. The water doesn't drain from the shoes when you step out of the water. I had to take them off and dump the substantial amount of water.

Flimsy insoles lasted 1 swim

On the first time wearing these in the lake, the insoles detached for the most part which led to them being uncomfortable. I ended up just ripping the flimsy insole out which felt better. Did the job of keeping my feet from getting cut up by the rocks.
