Pleasant and practical outdoor lighting

I like sitting on the balcony while working on my computer, and I bought some lights so I can do that even after dark. I’ve seen these lights deployed in various places, and they always make me smile, so I knew they would help me create the kind of environment I want.
When I first plugged them in, none of the bulbs lit up, and I thought perhaps I had been sold a defective product. But there was a yellow sheet with bold print telling me that, if a lamp doesn’t light, I should twist it in tighter. I had to tighten each of them to a degree which made em uncomfortable … but I’m used to dealing with glass bulbs containing a vacuum. If I were to tighten one of those puppies like this I could end up with bloody fingers, but these lamps are LEDs in a plastic casing, with no vacuum.
Once I had all the bulbs working it was too bright out there, so I had to go back and unscrew some of the bulbs. Now I have a good balance: sufficient light for working; a warm, pleasant environment; and enough disabled bulbs, so as not to annoy the neighbours.
All in all, this was a very successful purchase.

Q: I purchased two strings, assembled and installed them. After the second day only the first 5 bulbs worked. I have switched cords, outlets and even the #6 bulb to confirm it isn’t like Xmas lights. I guess I shall return them.

Q: Any ideas how to hang this Noma outdoor string light set to my balcony PCV railing? Also, will outdoor command clips be strong enough to hold the lights?

A: Honestly ,I would use Zipties to be safe . Command strips work for a certain weight. With the string the weight is dispersed over a larger area , not sure if they would hold against weight, weather and such .

Q: In the instruction manual, p.5, it says that a spare fuse is provided. I didn't find any fuse in the box. When I opened the access cover on top of the attachment plug, there is no fuse. Do we need a fuse to use the this string? Thank you!
