It is wedge-shaped to lift your legs and add some padding under your sit bones.     Cushion fits my inlet kayak perfectly. It makes my trip so much more enjoyable without the numb bum!!!

    I should have gotten the gel seat. This adds a bit (1/2") more cushion but not enough to make much difference. I'll have to wait til I actually float for a few hours before I make a definitive judgement. There's still ice on the water here so it's gonna be a few weeks yet.

    The original seat pad did not offer any where near enough padding. After a few trips there was little to no padding left where the two sit bones rest. The seat wedge helped a little but I ended up buying another closed cell kayak pad 3/4 inch thick and use it with the seat wedge. I have used my kayak 16 times this year and the portability and easy storage are its strengths.

    This small add on to the Our Kayak was just what we needed to make sitting in the kayak for a longer period of time more comfortable.
