Lacklustre performance

This reel is not the best. It does't not spool out very easily, even at the lowest setting. My other reels keep up with my canon ball as it drops, but this reel seems to bind, causing the line to pull from the down rigger release. The drag adjustment seems to move on its own. I lost 3 fish due to this. The line counter doesn't work from the factory calibration, plain and simple. The Okuma reference material claims it's not for counting depths, but for reference as its only calibrated to a certain test and material type. What a bunch of hooey!
