I give 2 stars for 1 reason only

I love this pan, but I'm giving it 2 stars cause of stupidity on the manufacturers side and the huge mess that it made. when u buy this make sure you open the vent hole lid and drill out the hole. I drained my truck, assuming the vent hole was, well a vent hole seeing it had a lid, but in fact it is sealed closed because they to lazy to drill it out when they molded it. caused the oil not to drain cause it has no vent and it went all over the floor. only reason I don't give it 5 stars. make sure u check

Poor quality

****Buyer beware*** You can not fill this and expect to bring it to Canadian tire and have them empty it to recycle the oil. I was told I cannot do that. So what is the point of buying this container and have to fill up my empty oil bottles. Might as well just get the pan with a spout. Today Sept 29, 2024 Canadian Tire Kirkland refused to take my oil to recycle it. They said to leave the container and that would be fine. Why would I buy a $29.99 container to bring my oil and have to leave it there. Also be careful that the plastic is very thin and if you drag it from underneath the car you will puncher it as it very thin.

Just a mess

Was pretty excited about the concept. My old Mercedes holds just shy of 8 litres and when I pulled the plug this dud had zero chance in keeping up. Bought it to help keep things clean and can say about 3-4 litres over flowed as it tried to keep up. Can tell the vent worked as it was blowing bubbles through the overflowing oil. Extremely disappointed.

Does not work well

I purchased this oil drain container about a week ago and finally had the time to use it. While doing the oil change on my vehicle the pan over flowed all over my garage floor. I have found that the 2 small holes which allow oil to pass into the container are very small and do not keep up with the flow of oil out of the pan. Furthermore the "vent" hole is not at all the right size to let expanding air out. These 2 reasons are very problematic. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

Big Enough For Large Engines

The drain container is big enough for large vehicles that have a lot of engine oil. One thing that it is missing is a cover so after using it, the oil does run off the pan surface onto the floor. Some drain pans have a cover to avoid that situation.

Q: I'm looking to replace a drain pan that has a plastic mesh over the main portion of the container previously purchased from CT. With this model having a shallow catch area, does the oil splash up at all?

A: Yes it does. It also has a poorly designed drain plug cap and clean up is messy after use too as the pan surface needs wiping down. I don't use this pan anymore and have replaced it with a different type, I wouldn't recommend buying this item.
