Flickering lights

I bought the Christmas tree a few weeks before Christmas. After a week the lights started flickering. We found one loose connection and it was better for a day. Then it got worse. On December 22 nd we took all the ornaments off to return the tree. We found another loose connection and the lights stayed on….. onto after supper on the 24 th then started to flicker again. Of course no returns after the 24th so we have this tree with flickering lights and it drives my wife crazy.

Q: What size tree skirt should I be looking at to cover the bottom/ base? Most of the ones purchased with this item say 48 inches... is that correct?

Q: Can you use just the top two sections of the tree and have it still light up and fit the base? Some years we like to put our tree on top of a small table and just use the top two parts of it, some years we put it on the floor and use all 3 sections.

Q: How long can you keep the lights on? I leave my tree up all year with no decorations and I have the lights plugged into a timer and the lights are on for 4 hrs every evening. Will this burn out the lights?

A: So far we’ve had the lights in for at least that time frame with no issues. But we are using it for the first year so it’s still new.

A: We had this same issue. There isn’t a plug. Run a green extension cord from the bottom of the tree up the back to the top.
