These lamps came a two pack, one worked the other didn’t. Unfortunately I was not allowed to open the pack at the store to check that they were in good working order ? Had I thought it through I should opened them in the parking lot, then discovering one was faulty, I could have taken them back right then. No problem returning them for credit, but I had bought the last set.

I live in a low-rise apartment building with the balcony off my kitchen above my bedroom windows. At first, I just propped one of these up on top of my air conditioner which is off the balcony, to get an idea where to mount them. I am mainly trying to have them light up when someone passing on the sidewalk decides to come into my unfenced front yard. The worst is the idiots that pee on the wall near my bedroom window.
I like the way the low light increases when the motion sensor is triggered, but found putting them on my air conditioner or house wall keeps them too far back to protect my home until the last metre or two.
So now I am rigging up a little panel from an old particleboard medicine cabinet to mount against my balcony railing from behind, putting this solar light between the vertical rails, still getting lots of sun but protected a bit from the hail by the handrail. Being at the front of my balcony now triggers the light sooner.

Q: Can these be affixed to the side of a shingled house and do they withstand winter conditions?

A: I wouldn’t recommend it against a shingled house because of the angle and setting of the dual stage sensor. As for winter we haven’t had ours during the winter yet. But we will be bringing them in just in case.

Q: Why do all your reviewers mention the motion sensor and yet your answer is that it turns off at dawn and on at dusk? It this a dim-most-of-the-time and then there's motion and the lights gets brighter? Please clarify.

A: 1. The first small led turns off at dawn and turn on at dusk , it's standby with about 3lumens ; 2. The second big led won't turn on at dusk automatically , only after the motion sensor is detected , the big led will turn on at about 40lumens , then after about 20 seconds , it will turn off , until next sensor detected ; So this light is "dim-most-of-the-time and then there's motion and the lights gets brighter" .

Q: Is there a way to turn of the motion detection? I want to keep the light on steady and have them turning bright at different times.

A: Sorry ，it can't be turn off the motion detection , it detected when someone passby and become more bright ,if you remove it ,the steady also keep the same bright as orginal , it can't become more bright when remove the motion sensor , thanks~

Q: where can I find a manual for these? I mine didn't have one and each od has a different timing for the bright light

A: you can provide a E-MAIL address , we will send the manual to you , for this product , it can work steady for lower light , but if active detected , it will be more bright and last about 25 seconds .

Q: Are these lights motion sensor activated only...or do they come on at dusk and off at dawn. The box says motion sensor.
