A: I don't believe the lamp is able to be dimmed, and the bulbs can be difficult to acquire which makes the lamp a little bit disposable. With that said, the lamp is wonderful! I do a lot of fine detail work so a lamp like this is indispensable, but it is so useful for those times that you need to see something up close....like slivers for example or those times that they make ingredients or instructions minute.

A: Vert funny Globe ! You surely wanted to sat « 18 months ». My lamp burned after one year and was used far less than 3 hours a day. And yes, there was a replacement bulb at CT but it is no more available (discontinued).

Q: Will Canadian Tire restock the replacement bulb for this lamp in 2013/14? I bought this lamp last year and now I need a replacement bulb. I went into Canadian Tire at Bay and Dundas and could not find the proper sized bulb for this lamp, and it does not appear to be available at all.

A: Our magnifying desk lamp has a magnification of 3 diopter. This means that an object will appear to be 75% larger than it really is. Here is a practical example: If an object that is 10cm in length is observed through a 3X lens such as ours, it will appear to have a diameter of 17.5 cm.
