Defective-non functioning

First one I bought years ago was great, new one is defective and no response from sent email. When motion activated, the light just temporarily strobes on-off. Performed all the instruction manual and online suggestions and settings. The battery is fine-stays on in manual mode. I waited too long to install and missed return window, so best set up and test right away.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A: For me what I did was cut and splice. Was the easiest and fastest way to go. Light is mounted indoor and the charging panel is outside the building.

Q: How will this solar light hold up for a Northern Canadian winter? Can it handle -50 Celcius and sustain normal/rated operation?

A: Not if you live in the Yukon. We bought it for the long dark days we get here, but there’s not enough daylight to charge the batteries. In fact the batteries were shot after just 1 winter, perhaps because of not being charged and -40C temperatures.

Q: I need a light for our outhouse at the cabin. Can I install the solar panel outside obviously but put the light inside the outhouse so it comes on when we enter (via the motion of entering)?

A: I have two of them. they are one a shed and the other outside by the rear door. They work well. They come on when you walk by them. They stay on a long time.

Q: How can you install the mounting plate when you can't access the screws

A: Remove the small black knobs being very careful not to let the little screws fall out. I put a piece of Scotch Tape over the screw head to help. Once the light was remounted to the bracket, and the small black knobs were screwed back on, I removed the tape.

Q: Can I buy just the light attachment for this? We took it down to do work on our garage and someone stole the light but not the solar panel

A: I am no expert but if you have the wiring,I would think any solar motion detector should work.Make sure the wiring is compatible with the replacement solar motion detector.

Q: Light just blinks on and off all night long, how do I fix this

A: A few things to try. First, if the triggers are somewhat sporadic but ongoing there could be some form of continuous trigger such as mice or voles. Second, Try setting the operating switch to the center position and allow the unit to charge for 2 to 3 days and then flip the switch to the right for night time activations. Third, the three setting dials on the bottom of the head may need some tweaking: distance, time, and lux. I had a similar issue with one of my units and the solution came with adjusting these settings and all is great now.
