Does the Job

This Noma Outdoor Extension Cord does the job well as it's 32 ft. long and the perfect length for what needed it for (powerkng a remote and Christmas ligbts). It has only one plug-in slot.andif you don't require multi plug-ins, then this should be up for the task at hand. It is good enough for me to get the job done.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: How many outlets? Description states, "One, polarized (two-prong) outlet." Does this mean I can plug two devices into this one cord, and then plug it into the wall receptacle? Does this also match info on photo of product wrapping?

3 Answers
  • A: It has only one outlet and you would not be able to plug in more than one load, unless you used a multiple outlet adaptor at the end of the cable.

Q: What is this suitable for? Written description states it is "Suitable for medium-duty use," but photo of wrapping shows "Light duty." What is difference between light duty, general duty, and medium-duty use?

3 Answers
  • A: The duty is dependent on the current to be carried by the wire. If you are carrying a current of 15 amps it is best to use #14 gauge wire. If the current is less than 10 amps #16 gauge wire is sufficient. The specifications tell you the maximum current carrying capacity of the cord.

Q: the length is 32', can i use two of this productand to make it longer? This product one , but now I need more length. If I don't want to invest more and i want to buy one more of this product and join both to make it longer is it OK? Is it safe?

3 Answers
  • A: It is safe, but there will be a slight decrease in voltage because of the extra cord resistance.

Q: can i use it for my block heater?

2 Answers
  • A: To give a little more thorough response than "No." If your block heater has a 3 prong grounded cord, then no you can't use it. If your plug is only a 2 prong then you absolutely could use it.
