Talk about taking advantage of your customer

Extremely expensive. It’s been buttery cold for a long time. Nearly 40 bucks for an extension cord is simply supply and demand. Nothing new here. Of course it works fine and lights up.

Q: Just what is the name of the item(s), perhaps a C-type clip, to secure the above to a garage ceiling...

  • A: Hello, Extension cords are not intended to be fastened to any surface, such that they become a permanent installation. This is in violation of the Canadian Electric Code and is not a practice that is encouraged.

Q: Block heater cord Noma extension 5224262 says on the package and the cord label do not use in wet conditions. It is plugged into my garage and is resting on the snow. If it is snowing with the outlets sitting outside of the car is this safe to use in this condition?

1 Answer
  • A: CSA requires cord packaging to contain warnings that are all encompassing which makes it sound like you can’t use it as it was intended but it can be used outdoors in damp conditions where the cord is not submerged in water or in/around excessive amounts of water. This is still an electrical cord and it is not water or weather proof. However, snowy conditions are fine. Please note that water mixed with salt (run-off of melted snow from your car) is electrically conductive so exposure of this water to the outlets should be avoided.
