I like Ninja products and have an air fryer and grill/airfryer combo. I bought this product for the smoking capability. So far I have grilled steaks and salmon and smoked an eye of round. The temperature can't be set on the grill, just High, Med, Low, and it runs hot. The times given in their recipe booklet are too long and food is overcooked. The grill is very hard to get clean even when soaked in soapy water. I am very disappointed with this product.

A: LOL I don't know why someone would make the statment that it's electric so not measured in BTU's - maybe they dont understand your question? I hope this helps in your comparison to gas grills: The rating on the Ninja unit is 1760 watts. A portion of the total power consumption would go to run the fan, display and small element that heats the pellets. It you take the full 1760 watt value, it is equivellant to 6000 BTUs. I would reduce this number by about 500 to 700 BTUs to give about 5300 BTU's of heat produced for cooking.

Q: Saskatoon here, and we get some mighty cold days - will the digital display hold up it's integrity in the cold - my deck is wrapped in with ventilation openings when cooking so I will use it in the winter.

A: There's no searing feature. Nonetheless, this machine masters a grill function that delivers the performance of a full-size propane grill with excellent charring and searing. The temperature ranges for the grill setting are: LOW (400°F), MED (450°F), or HIGH (500°F), and for the smoker function are: 145-400°F.

A: Yes, for best results, performance, and flavor, use Ninja Woodfire Pellets when adding smoke. We do not recommend using other pellet brands, as Ninja Woodfire Technology was developed using Ninja pellets, and using other brands may cause ignition issues and unsatisfactory results for your food.
