Decent bike for the summer

I've been looking for a bike for about a month now and there's been limited availability at most stores. I found this one at my local Canadian Tire and thankfully, it was one of the more reasonably priced ones. I was able to purchase mine in store but needed to wait a few days for the bike mechanic to assemble it so I could get the one-year warranty.
I've only had the bike for a day but so far so good. I inflated the wheels to 40 PSI because they felt pretty flat at 25 PSI (you might need to play around with the tire pressure until you get something that feels right). Having taken this bike out for my first ride today, it felt great! The brakes are a bit squeaky, but I think it's because they're still new. The wheels have great traction and grip the road well and I'm sure if I was to take this bike onto a mountain trail, it would ride pretty well. The handlebars are a bit wide but they feel okay (I do wish they were a bit higher/curved - I don't think they're adjustable but I still need to play around with the bike a bit). The only downside about the handlebars it that the plastic grip tends to slip off easily, so you need to push it back onto the bar frequently.
The gear switch is smooth and easy to maneuver - the gears switch over with no issues so far. The downside for me is the seat. It is narrow and hard, which can make for an uncomfortable long ride. I'll likely look at buying some sort of gel cushion to put over it or maybe switch out the seat entirely.
If you're looking for a simple bike to ride around in for the summer, I'd suggest this one. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, rides well, and will hopefully last for a couple of seasons.

Problem:Left gear shifter and front brake caliper.

I received the cycle on 4 May 2020. Assembled it. Half of the cables did not have cable ends. Rode 7 to 8 times on trails & public roads. Facing problem with the left gear shifter. Whatever i do the gear falls down to the first gear with the simplest jerk on the road. I have to hold the gear all the time when im riding the bike. The front brake caliper does not work properly. Tried everything with hex key & screw driver. But it keeps making sound and one side of the caliper just doesnt move.
